SERVICES
To ensure you get the very best service we visit you and your pet at home to carry out a FREE initial assessment/consultation at a time to suit you. The initial assessment is to meet both you and your pet/s and ensure Walkies Birmingham fully understand your service requirements. Walkies Birmingham will complete a pet care agreement at the meeting (which takes approximately 40 minutes) and you will be asked to sign the confirmed agreement.
You are asked to have the following information available for the completion of the pet care agreement:
- Emergency contact details
- Insurance details (if applicable)
- Microchip details (if applicable)
- Evidence of up to date vaccinations (if applicable)
- Confirmed registation with a local vet along with vet contact details
- Spare house keys (if not at home when service required)
- 50% deposit - minimum £10.00
Upon completion of each service a pet visiting log will be completed and left at your home to confirm service delivery along with time of arrival/departure and any comments for your information. Walkies Birmingham also offer a FREE text service in which we will text you whilst away to let you know everything is OK.
To ensure we continue to provide a 1st class service we ask regular customers to complete a customer feedback questionnaire after about 4 weeks.
Additional information.
We have current Criminal Records Bureau certificate checks at enhanced level - to give you peace of mind that you
would be entrusting your pet and your home to some-one who has no police record for convictions, cautions,
reprimands or final warnings.
We have excellent work references and customer feedback questionnaires/testimonials.
We wear a Walkies Birmingham logo uniform.
Walkies Birmingham has public liability insurance upto to £2million.
All of the above documents will be available at the initial assessment meeting.
Dog walking
Walkies Birmingham feel it's important to state upfront that we do not believe in picking up lots of dogs from different people and walking them all together. The service we offer is to walk no more than 2 dogs at any one time (unless you own more dogs) ensuring your dog has dedicated time. The two walks on offer are:
A tail wagging 30 minutes walk A dog tired 1 hour walk
The walk itself will be for the full allocated time (travelling time not included) and the pace/activity will depend on the age/health of your dog. The walk will be at a suitably located park if close by and for repeat daily walks we try to vary the route and interest for your dog. All dog poop is picked up and disposed of. Muddy/wet coats and paws are cleaned before returning into your home and we make sure your dog is comfortable and calm back home before leaving.
*NEW* Walkies Birmingham are now offering puppy and older dog home care where a walk would not be suitable. We visit your dog at home for 30 minutes or 1 hour to let them out in the garden for a "call of nature" along with feeding, fuss, cuddles and play. (Also, see Home Security service).
Cat Visits
Cats are creatures of habit and like their familiar surroundings and the comfort of their own home. The service we offer is to visit your home on a daily basis (once, twice or more if needed) for 30 minutes each visit to ensure your cat is cared for. The service includes cleaning bowls, supplying fresh food (provided by owner), water, changing litter trays, grooming and giving your cat cuddles and attention. We will also give oral medication to cats on medication at no additional cost. This is a puurrfect alternative to catteries if away on business or on holiday. (Also, see home security service).
Other small pets
For other small pets such as rabbits, guinea pigs etc., who require a run about, feeding (provided by owner), cages cleaned and a fuss then let us take care of their needs. The service we offer is to visit your home on a daily basis (or as often as required) for 30 minutes each visit to ensure your pet is cared for. (Also, see home security service).
Pet taxi to vet, groomers (local areas only)
If your pet needs to visit the vet or groomer etc., and you can't take the time off work or don't have available transport then let us do it for you. We operate a local pet taxi service within approximately a 4 mile radius in which we ensure your pet is at it's appointment on time and will stay with your pet if necessary during the appointment and return it home. All we ask is that you check our availability before confirming your pet's appointment. For added peace of mind the pet taxi vehicle is cleaned and disinfected on a daily basis.
Home security
If you are away on business or holiday and want the added peace of mind that your home as well as your pet will be looked after then why not let us take care of general security precautions. The service includes opening/closing curtains, lights on/off, taking in post, bins out on bin day and watering house plants. Your house keys would be kept securely and not have obvious labels and all visits would be by Walkies Birmingham uniformed staff. Please note this service is only available when booking a daily pet service.
