Terms and Conditions

 

Your Pet

During the initial consultation meeting a pet care agreement form will be completed for Walkies Birmingham to act in the best interest for your pet.

Dogs must be sociable with other dogs and children.

The owner has an obligation to advise at the initial consultation meeting of any behavioural problems or traits your dog may have. Failure to do so may result in the cancellation of your booking and loss of deposit/payment. Walkies Birmingham reserves the right to decline/terminate a booking if a dog is not sociable, has serious behavioural problems and/or is dangerous.

Dogs and non-house cats must wear a collar with an ID tag/contact details even if micro chipped.

Walking

Walkies Birmingham reserve the right to use personal judgement to shorten the walk time or change to a home visit if in the best interest for your dog and for the safety of your dog and/or walker (e.g. extreme weather conditions, injury, age of dog etc.)

All dogs will be exercised on a lead unless by prior arrangement with Walkies Birmingham as part of the pet care agreement. Dog walking off the lead will only be undertaken once Walkies Birmingham is happy that it is safe to do so. Any fouling by your dog will be disposed of by Walkies Birmingham.

Uncastrated dogs (unless under 9 months old) or bitches in season will not be allowed off the lead.

Equipment

The owner will be required to provide sufficient food and sundries for the duration of a booking. Any replenishment provided by Walkies Birmingham will incur a surcharge to the owner of £5.00.

Leads, treats, favourite toys, dog towels etc. are to be provided by the owner as appropriate.

Vaccinations

Dogs and cats must be up to date with all worm and flea treatment and sight of up to date certificates of vaccinations will be required at the initial consultation meeting.

Insurance

Walkies Birmingham has Public Liability insurance which covers – dog walking, dog, cat and small domestic pet minding including horses, donkeys and domesticated farm animals, house sitting, collection and delivery and cover for loss of keys/replacement locks.

The owner is required to provide pet insurance and microchip details (if applicable) at the initial consultation meeting. Walkies Birmingham will not be held liable for any loss, injury or death to a pet or damage caused by the pet either inside or outside whilst in Walkies Birmingham care.

Vet Details

All pets are required to be registered with a local vet. Vet contact details along with a nominated 3rd party emergency contact that can make a decision regarding surgery/euthanasia (if necessary) are to be provided at the initial consultation meeting.

Walkies Birmingham reserves the right to use personal judgement in seeking veterinary advice/treatment if it believes your pet to be unwell in an emergency situation. The owner and/or emergency contact would be contacted if possible. The owner would be responsible for any vet fees incurred with or without a verbal agreement. Emergency vet visits will also incur an additional charge of £15.00 (Mon-Sun) £20.00 (Bank Holidays) to be paid to Walkies Birmingham.

Deposits/Payments

The pet owner will be required to sign the pet care agreement at the initial consultation meeting in order to secure services along with the payment of a 50% deposit (minimum £10.00) which is non refundable if the client cancels prior to booking commencement. The deposit will be deducted from the first booking payment. Deposits/payments can be made by cash or cheque made payable to Miss C. D. Moore. Walkies Birmingham will provide a receipt upon payment.

Customers requiring formal written correspondence/letters/emails/invoices on company headed paper will incur a one-off admin fee of £20.00.

The pet owner will also be required to provide at the initial consultation meeting spare house keys. A £5.00 payment will be required if Walkies Birmingham are required to collect/deliver keys.

All bookings MUST be paid in full in advance/the beginning of each service. For ongoing bookings payments must be made monthly in advance unless otherwise agreed with Walkies Birmingham. When the next monthly payment is due reminders will be given to customers beforehand via text and/or note. Failure to pay on time may result in temporary suspension of services or immediate termination of services without notice for repeated late payments.

Payments can be made by cash or cheque made payable to Miss C D Moore. Customer cheques that are refused by the bank due to insufficient funds will incur a £7.50 charge and cash payment in full will be required. Walkies Birmingham will provide a receipt upon payment.

A fuel surcharge may be applied dependant on your location – this will be confirmed at the initial consultation meeting.

Cancellations

Regular weekly customers will be required to give a minimum of 30 days notice to terminate all services with Walkies Birmingham.

A minimum of 14 days notice is required for temporary cancellations or changes to bookings due to holiday commitments.

For temporary cancellations or changes to bookings due to unforeseen circumstances a minimum of 48 hours notice is required.

Customers complying with the above timeframes will be entitled to a full payment refund. Failure to comply with these timescales will result in full payment for the booking being required which is non-refundable.

Deposits paid at the initial consultation meeting are non refundable if clients cancel prior to booking commencement.

Walkies Birmingham will endeavour to comply with the above cancellation timeframes and deposits/payments will be refunded in full for cancellations made by us.

Miscellaneous

Home security services are only available to customers booking two daily pet care visits.
